Journey to Healthcare CIC has partnered with a GP surgery in Bromley, South London, to offer aspiring healthcare professionals the opportunity to participate in Health Promotion Work Experience Days within a primary care setting.
This programme is ideal for anyone interested in medicine, nursing, allied health professions, public health, pharmacy, healthcare science, or patient education. Participants will gain valuable insight into primary care, develop communication skills, and learn how healthcare professionals support patients to improve their health.
Volunteers may have the opportunity to support health promotion activities on topics such as:
🩸 Prediabetes Education
Understanding risk factors, prevention strategies, lifestyle changes, and early intervention.
❤️ Know Your Numbers: Blood Pressure Awareness
Learning about hypertension, cardiovascular risk, and the importance of blood pressure monitoring.
🫀 Cholesterol Awareness
Supporting conversations about cholesterol management, healthy lifestyles and cardiovascular health.
🎀 Breast Cancer Awareness
Promoting breast awareness and encouraging understanding of self-examination and early detection.
